Last week we enjoyed an evening celebrating some of the UK’s most effective designs from the past year.
The Design Business Association promotes best practice in the UK’s design industry. At the heart of what they do is the encouragement and celebration of effective design. That means design that has a positive effect on the quality of people’s lives, and on the bottom line of businesses.
This year’s Grand Prix winner was Legal & General’s Every Day Matters campaign, with Smith & Milton (S&M). S&M were appointed to engage all employees with the Every Day Matters campaign and ensure communications were consistent, compelling and clear. Legal & General saw a 24% rise in brand value, a 16% increase in advocacy and brand attraction, and importantly their best ever employee engagement and consumer brand performance scores. At the bottom line, Legal & General’s share price rose 465% faster than the rest of the market.
This is just one of the many examples of great design that were rewarded on the night with the prestigious Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. As part of our sponsorship of the DBA, we provide all case studies, which can be found online at www.effectivedesign.org.uk.
Congratulations to all the winners, and particularly Minale Tattersfield with whom we shared a table!
