Consumer perception of brands is extremely important for business, and finding out what they think and how they see the company is not that hard in the age of information and communication. However, this is not the case with professionals in the marketing industry, as they are not typically verbose when it comes to specific brands.
A new poll that interviewed a panel of marketers reveals the top ten brands that industry experts admire the most, Marketing Week reports. Interestingly, the choices of the experts and consumers practically overlap.
The brand which gathers the biggest round of applause is retailer John Lewis, followed by technology manufacturer Apple and multi-function conglomerate Virgin Group. Other companies on the list include Nike, Procter & Gamble, Innocent, Coca Cola, O2 and Unilever, ranked between fourth and ninth position respectively, while Tesco and Volkswagen share tenth place.
Perhaps not surprisingly, marketers are impressed with the advertising campaigns by these brands, but their positive attitude towards them is also based on the brands´ overall ability to deliver value to customers, while maintaining a friendly and fun relationship with them.
Commenting on the results of the poll, Craig Inglis, marketing director at John Lewis, says that although admiration is very subjective, it is no wonder that marketers and consumers alike appreciate creativity and innovation which helps strengthen emotional ties.
