The challenge
DTEK commissioned us to write a purpose-led Action Report detailing its work to keep the lights on for Ukraine against overwhelming odds as well as its long-term commitment to sustainable practices. Due for launch at the 2025 World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, the report needed to create impact among global leaders and resonate with a broad stakeholder audience.
The solution
Because DTEK had paused corporate reporting in 2022, all report content needed to be developed from scratch.
We embedded a former journalist as writing lead to uncover the scale and human impact of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy systems and understand how DTEK was responding.
Through interviews, testimonials and desktop research, the writer pieced together a balanced account of DTEK’s strategic response to the crisis – its ‘Fight for Light’.
Alongside transparent disclosures on governance, compliance and performance, the writer drew out powerful stories of courage and innovation. He detailed how the company had restored power around 40 million times to households affected by hostilities, all while expanding wind, solar and battery capacity at record pace and positioning Ukraine as a future leader in the global energy market.
Results
DTEK’s Action Report brought the Group’s purpose vividly to life, combining authentic voices and evidence of resilience with measurable impact and a vision of Ukraine’s clean energy future.
The document was shared with pride at Davos where it helped open conversations with world and industry leaders.
It quickly became one of the company’s strongest performing pieces of content ever, delivering more than 50,000 website views and 35,000 unique users in the first few months after publication. People spent an average of three minutes on each page.
Powerful stories from DTEK’s people extended the report’s international reach, generating eight million views and 7,000 engagements on LinkedIn.
We were incredible proud to see this report win silver in the ‘Best Purpose-Driven Content’ category at the Corporate Content Awards 2026.
