It is, though, still quite rare to see them used in ads.<br \/>\nMoma! is a healthy breakfast brand that so far has porridge and bircher muesli on the product list. To promote these morning staples, their new ad campaign plays on the brand name.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a bold move, because you might not find muesli all that funny or interesting in itself \u2013 unless, like me, you have a mother who can\u2019t pronounce the word properly. (This also isn\u2019t the first time I\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strattoncraig.com\/insight\/ad-of-the-week-yoosli\/\">written about muesli<\/a> for Ad of the Week. I think a pattern might be emerging here.)<br \/>\nThis fun and colourful ad turns the concept of the \u2018yo moma\u2019 joke on its head with some positive vibes. Using the words \u2018Yo Moma\u2019 also gives stronger ownership of the product to the customer with direct association, but the design and colours show that this ad isn\u2019t taking itself <em>that <\/em>seriously.<br \/>\nAnd really, if you\u2019re going for a \u2018skinny latte\u2019 from, say, Starbucks, theirs still clocks in with calories in the three-figure range.
