It has certainly helped us. Memes about life during self-isolation, videos of adorable grandparents getting to grips with Whatsapp calls, clips of streets doing the #clapforcarers \u2013 they\u2019re all helping to find and celebrate the common ground between us.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Content is doing what it does best: connecting people. Here are a few of the snippets that have brought us joy over the last few weeks. We hope they bring a smile to your face too.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Born-from-boredom videos<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have to commend the creativity of some of the made-at-home videos we\u2019ve seen circling.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sports commentators deserve a round of applause. There\u2019s Nick Heath\u2019s quirky snapshots into <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nickheathsport\/status\/1239899707331301377?lang=en\">life in Tooting<\/a> and Simon Cotter\u2019s hilarious commentary about his <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mrandrewcotter\/status\/1243539675031232519\">dog\u2019s dinner time<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also really enjoyed watching families get creative together, including the lockdown <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wdcS0Nbo7Ng\">version of \u2018One Day More\u2019<\/a> from Les Mis. Lyrics include \u201cone more day\u2019s home education, let\u2019s just let them run amuck\u201d, and \u201canother day, another destiny, shopping for online delivery\u201d. Singing so heroically about common complaints during the lockdown transforms the everyday niggles into a shared struggle we can laugh at together.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then there\u2019s the interpretative dance from the group of housemates, ingeniously choreographed with group compositions, straight faces and a simple bounce move. It\u2019s difficult to explain, but it\u2019s strangely mesmerising and you can watch it <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/badbygargar\/status\/1244644936001236993?s=20\">here<\/a>. We\u2019re enjoying how people are creating their own fun at home.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Parents unite over home-schooling woes<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It seems that home-schooling has reminded lots of parents why they decided not to become teachers. People are sharing their experiences on Twitter, which has become a melting pot of originality. Thank you to these parents who have given us the following great lines:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf you see my boys locked outside, mind your business. We&#8217;re having a fire drill. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/homeschool?src=hash\">#homeschool<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHomeschooling day 4. Today there was a lot of yelling &amp; crying, things were thrown around, it was anarchy. But I calmed down and apologised to the kids and they seem ok about it.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHomeschooling day 7: The PE teacher is not wearing a bra.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m sure many of us can relate. Thanks to parents reaching out with their humour, there has been a real sense of community around the home schooling effort. Shared experiences and humour have also translated into shared resources, tips and helpful ideas for activities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The gems of society<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also thanks to lockdown that we have learned about some of the unsung heroes in our society. For example, we\u2019ve been able to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tobymarriott\/status\/1246061924984344577\">this toddler<\/a> who says hello to everyone he meets on walks (though he is now having to pretend). We\u2019ve discovered a 79-year-old named Shirley who is creating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/wales\/2020-03-24\/the-79-year-old-sharing-workout-videos-to-keep-fit-during-self-isolation\/\">home workout videos<\/a> to help those who are self-isolating stay active. And we\u2019ve met a man called Steve who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/av\/uk-england-shropshire-52160490\/coronavirus-dj-entertains-shropshire-neighbours-from-driveway?intlink_from_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fnews%2Ftopics%2Fcx2pk70323et%2Fuplifting-stories&amp;link_location=live-reporting-map\">set up a DJ booth<\/a> to play tunes to his neighbours. Legends.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The good side of social media<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scrolling social media has become a daily ritual for many of us during lockdown. And it has meant that we\u2019ve been able to see lots of the good stuff communities across the UK are doing to bring everyone together.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our hearts were warmed by the neighbourly goodness of a street in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/av\/uk-england-northamptonshire-52190105\/coronavirus-happy-birthday-sung-to-man-100-by-neighbours-on-street?intlink_from_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fnews%2Ftopics%2Fcx2pk70323et%2Fuplifting-stories&amp;link_location=live-reporting-map\">Northampton singing happy birthday<\/a> to a man on his 100<sup>th<\/sup> birthday. We were pleased to see that some neighbours had <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2020\/03\/30\/neighbours-paint-special-parking-space-nhs-worker-outside-home-12479013\/\">reserved an NHS worker\u2019s parking space<\/a> at home to make her life a little easier at the moment. Instagram also allowed us to see how people across the UK are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/royalmailofficial\/?hl=en\">thanking the people delivering their post<\/a> \u2013 and how posties are thanking them back.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you seen any clips or stories you think are worth sharing?
